Omnisphere 2 library by Ilio & Reverb Machine released

Recreate classic synth sounds in your DAW

Software makers and distributors Ilio have teamed up with sound designer Reverb Machine, aka Dan Carr, to release a series of patch libraries for Spectrasonics’ much-loved software synth, Omnisphere 2.

The first product in the new Fame Series is called Classic Sounds, and is based on synth sounds used by such well-known artists as ABBA, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Gary Numan and Joy Division.

There’s a nice twist, however: for Classic Sounds, Ilio decided to focus on those musicians’ lesser-known hits — or, to put it their way, “nothing that would get you kicked out of a music store” — so if you’re a connoisseur of 70’s-90’s electronic B-sides, this is the one for you!

The Classic Sounds collection features 66 different patches, all sorted according to type, with categories given accessible names like Lead, Bass, Arp, Organ, Vox, and Mono and Poly. It's available now for $35 from the Ilio website, and you can see it in action by watching the video below.
