Long-running YouTube channel Pro Synth Network have announced their first-ever live synth gathering, Synth South West. Taking place on 21 March 2026 in the beautiful seaside resort of Dawlish, the event will see musicians, enthusiasts, creators and developers gather to celebrate their shared passion for electronic music creation and performance.
Expo & Evening Gig
The day will consist of two events: a synth expo at The Strand Centre Dawlish between 10am and 5pm, and an evening gig hosted at The Shaftesbury Theatre from 7pm. The former will bring together developers, musicians, manufacturers and enthusiasts, while the latter will feature a carefully curated line-up of local, national and international musicians.
Starting the evening off is Pro Synth Network’s very own Peter James Stephen, who has been instrumental in organising the event as a whole. He will be followed by Dr Mike Metlay, former Editor of Recording Magazine, Editor in Chief of Bjooks and author of Synth Gems 1, who has flown in especially from the USA!
Next up will be a rare live performance from film & TV composer Ty Unwin, who has written scores for numerous productions — including many of David Attenborough’s documentaries — as well as the latest series of Walking with Dinosaurs. Finally, the evening will be headlined by Dave Bessel, one quarter of electronic music supergroup NODE. Dave is an established musician who releases his own work as well as working with many other artists across a variety of genres, and he is also active in the world of software coding. Trained at the Royal College of Music, Dave blends his love of synthesizers, guitars and more to produce captivating explorations in sound.
Tickets
Tickets for the event are available now, priced at £10 for the Expo, £10 for the evening gig, or £18 for both. All profits will be split equally between the Strand Centre, The Bob Moog Foundation and The Alan R Pearlman Foundation. More information can be found via the link below.
