Sample Logic Cinematic Guitars

“All-encompassing” guitar soft-synth

Sample Logic have released a new sample-based software guitar instrument, called Cinematic Guitars. Described by UK distributors Time + Space as “all-encompassing”, Cinematic Guitars comprises 9GB of samples of over 1000 instruments, at 24-bit/44.1kHz PCM quality, with fretwork provided by Guitarist Steve Ouimette, who apparently worked on the popular Guitar Hero console games.

Powered by Native Instruments’s Kontakt Player engine, there are over 60 effects and performance parameters “exploring infinite timbres and emotions”. The guitar sounds (which comprise plucked, picked, scraped, hit and even bowed electric and acoustic guitars) can be layered with synth sounds to create more ethereal textures, or you can use some of the more percussive elements to create rhythmic or melodic musical parts. Over 100 “score-ready” multis (preset templates comprising multiple instruments) are provided, and Sample Logic say that these are ideal for use by film, TV, computer game and electronic music composers.

Available now, Sample Logic Cinematic Guitars costs £259. For more information, check out the Time + Space web site, below.
