On Song Education Day: 23rd September

Get your demo heard
The Band Agency and the MCPS-PRS Alliance will be holding their 'On Song Education Day' tomorrow (23rd September) at the Bar Academy, Islington, in association with Radio 2, AMG and The Arts Council.

During the day, industry figures — including Colin Roberts (Editor, Drowned in Sound), Harry Lloyd-Jones (Virgin A&R), Peaches Geldof, Fred (Les Incompetents), Dan Medland (IE Management, Robbie Williams), Jim Irvin, Paulette Young and Richard Hoare (Clintons Legal department), Samantha Hall (Goldierocks DJ), Kav (Happy Mondays co-songwriter and lead guitarist) — will be giving advice to budding songwriters and up-and-coming bands and producers.

What's more, as part of a schedule of seminars, there's a chance to get your demo heard by industry professionals.

Admission is free, and there's no need to book — just turn up! Doors open at midday.

The day's events will be:

1:00PM — 1:45PM
The song that broke my band
An established well known singer/song writer will be on a panel with those
that helped create success.

2:00PM — 2.45PM
Demo to limo
Advice on how to take a music career a step further financially, with key industry panellists from A&R, promoters, artists, accountants and fundraisers.

3:00PM — 5:00PM
Demo listening panel and one-to-one advice
A variety of music industry professionals offering free and specialist career advice.

The best demo on the day will win a slot at 'In The City', the UK's international music convention in Manchester on the weekend of October 29th 2006. www.inthecity.co.uk
