Sonible’s latest AI-powered software offers an all-in-one vocal-restoration solution that combines noise and ambient sound reduction with tools for taming sibilants and plosives. Available as a plug-in or standalone application, prime:vocal has been developed to make less-than-ideal vocals sound as though they were recorded professionally in a well-treated studio.
Powered by Sonible’s renowned technology, prime:vocal is capable of tackling a wide range of technical issues, ranging from room issues to the tonality of the vocal itself. Loading an audio file into the plug-in or application will trigger an offline analysis process, and once the process is complete, a set of enhancements will be automatically applied to the incoming signal. From here, users are able to fine-tune the settings to their liking using Noise Reduction, Room Reduction and Vocal Clean-Up parameters.
As well as being able to reduce or remove room reverb, the plug-in is capable of addressing issues such as electrical and mechanical noise in recordings, potentially salvaging recordings that would otherwise be unusable. There are also tools designed for shaping the sound of the vocal itself, with an intelligent de-esser joined by Dynamics and Balance controls that can be used to control peak and average levels and address the signal’s spectral balance and tonality.

Compatibility
prime:vocal is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 11 and higher. VST3 and AU plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application. ARA versions of the plug-in are currently in the beta testing stage.

prime:vocal is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of €119 until 20 January 2025, when it will increase to €179.
