Alongside their extensive range of Eurorack modules and standalone instruments, Erica Synths also manufacturer a selection of Eurorack cases in varying sizes. At one end of the scale you’ll find the likes of the Aluminum Pico Case, a miniature 42HP desktop-style enclosure, and at the other is the Megarack, a colossal unit that houses eight 126HP rows.
The company have now announced the launch of the Megarack S, a new unit that shares the same visual design as its larger sibling, but with a slightly reduced size. It’s a classically-shaped, all-aluminium case with side panels that comes loaded with Erica Synths’ custom rails with threaded inserts, and is capable of providing 9A at +12V, 4.5A at-12V and 1A at +5V. Despite the ’S’ naming, it’s not exactly small — it still features six 126HP rows — although it does provide serious Eurorackers with a middle ground between the company’s desktop units and monstrous flagship case. As well as providing plenty of power, the unit also includes a pair of 4-pin XLR sockets that can be used to connect gooseneck lamps (which are available for purchase separately).
