SOS Awards 2017 winners announced

Gongs awarded at NAMM show

For gear lovers, NAMM is probably the biggest date in the calendar. The Anaheim Convention is host to more synths, mics, mixers, monitors, outboard and various other recording gear than you can shake an interviewer’s mic at. Keep an eye on our YouTube channel over the coming days for more videos from the show floor with loads of new products.

It’s not just new products that we go to NAMM for, though. We also take the opportunity to shout about the products that have brought SOS readers the most joy over the last year, in the form of the SOS Awards.

This year, nominations were open to products across 16 categories that have been available for the past 12 months. We received a huge number of votes and we will be announcing the winner of the voters’ prize draw very soon!

So, without further ado, we’re proud to present the seventh annual SOS Awards, as voted for by you.

That leaves the Editors’ Choice award, which is selected by the editorial team at Sound On Sound. This year the accolade went to Celemony Melodyne 4. Among its many ingenious features, one that we have been really impressed by is its outstanding time-stretching capabilities.

And finally, the Outstanding Marketing Award went to Sound Technology in the UK and Audio Plus Services/Plurison in the US.

All of us at Sound On Sound would like to thank you, our readers, for voting in this year’s SOS Awards. The winners were delighted to have their products recognised in this way, by you and by Sound On Sound. Finally, our congratulations go to this year’s winners, and to all the Award nominees, for their hard work in creating such exceptional audio tools for us to use.
