Vochlea have announced the launch of a new iOS App designed to help musicians capture, organise and revisit their musical ideas. Aiming to provide a purpose-built alternative to using Apple’s built-in Voice Memos, Dubnote uses AI to help manage and organise recordings, and carries out all of its processing locally rather than relying on cloud-based services. What’s more, anybody who downloads the App on its launch day (9 July 2025) will be granted lifetime access to its Premium plan, which is normally £24.99$24.99 per year.
Key Features
Dubnote allows users to:
- Automatically split their recordings into meaningful sections.
- Detect tempo (BPM).
- Transcribe speech and lyrics.
- Add time-stamped notes and favourite key moments.
- Tag recordings automatically based on content.
- Make everything searchable by keyword or emoji.
- Export full recordings or individual clips (WAV or AAC).
- Import old recordings to rediscover forgotten ideas.
“Our first product, Dubler, helped musicians get ideas out of their heads by letting them vocalise melody and rhythm. But after years of working directly with artists, we realised that this early ideas stage is totally underserved. Most musicians use the native Voice Memos App not because they love it, but because it’s convenient. In fact, 63% of musicians say audio note apps are essential, but they hate the ones that are available to them. We’ve built something better, designed with musicians in mind and made for the scrappy, messy stage of songwriting. No more digging through a sea of untitled waveforms. With Dubnote, ideas are easy to capture, organise and actually find again.” - George Wright, CEO of Vochlea
