Wave Arts have announced TrackPlug 7, a versatile plug-in that combines multiple audio processing tools into a single interface. Designed to complete a wide range of tasks, TrackPlug 7 incorporates a gate, compressor, 10-band equaliser, transient shaper, tube saturator and peak limiter.
The plug-in features a gate module capable of suppressing unwanted background noise, with adjustable threshold and ratio settings displayed in a scrolling time view for precise monitoring. The compressor offers dynamic control with several modes, a built-in sidechain equaliser and gain reduction metering to ensure clear feedback during use.
The EQ module includes 10 bands of parametric, shelf, analog shelf, and notch filters, as well as brickwall lowpass and highpass options with variable slopes. A real-time spectrum display and the option for stereo-linked or mid-side processing add further flexibility. For users looking to match tonal characteristics across tracks, the EQ Match mode simplifies the process by automating frequency adjustments.
TrackPlug 7 also features tools for adding character and detail to audio. The transient processor enables precise control over attack and sustain, making it an effective tool for taming drums and percussive sounds. The tube saturator introduces analogue-style harmonic warmth, adding depth and texture to digital recordings.
Users can also customise their workflow by rearranging processing modules to suit their specific needs. A low-latency peak limiter ensures clean signal output, while advanced metering options, including K-system metering, provide detailed feedback when in use.
