#Algorave Assembly is a day that brings together invited speakers and performers operating at the forefront of the Algorave scene.

Live coding masterclasses, panel discussion, and Concert Hall performance and keynotes will explore and disseminate the latest developments in this emerging form of musical practice.
Friday 27th April.

13:00-13:50 University of Leeds International Concert Series: OFFAL and The Yorkshire Programming Ensemble (TYPE)
A public lunchtime concert, featuring OFFAL and The Yorkshire Programming Ensemble (TYPE), aims to promote the concept of live coding and some of its related art forms, simultaneously online, and to a live Concert Hall audience.

14.00-14:45  Live Coding Visuals Seminar: Coral Manton
An introduction to the visual elements of live coding, with an overview and analysis of techniques used.

15:00-15:45  Keynote: Alex McLean
An introduction to live coding from the perspective of pattern - how patterns of repetition, symmetry, interference and glitch can be expressed and explored through code.

16:00-16:45 Panel Discussion and Q&A
A panel of coders and visualists will discuss themes around live coding, with an open floor for audience Q&A.

18:30-23:00 Concert Hall Foyer Algorave
The day concludes with a spectacular, livestreamed Algorave in the School of Music’s new Concert Hall Foyer venue, and features live coding by Belisha Beacon, co34pt, Joanne, Miri Kat, Renick Bell, TYPE, Yaxu, visuals by RITUALS and Coral Manton, and experimental and breakbeat DJ’ing by NikNak, DJ Linkz + guests.
