To find the exact phrase, put the words in quotes or join them together with a plus sign e.g. live+recording or "live recording".
To find, say, all live recording articles that mention Avid, enter: live+recording +avid - and use sidebar filters to narrow down searches further.

This is a browser-dependent caching issue, which simply means that your computer's web browsing folder has reached its limit of temporary internet files and cookies and can't cope with any more. (We use cookies to allow you to remain logged in, and to allow you to add products to your shopping basket. Without cookies, you wouldn't be able to do these things.)
Please be aware it can sometimes take several weeks for the list to update, as we schedule mailings in advance of them being sent out. If you are still receiving these emails after 6 weeks, just let us know and we'll investigate.
Also, please verify your Mailing List settings (in MY ACCOUNT > EDIT tab at the top of any SOS page) to make sure you have actually unsubscribed.
You can opt out of these emails at any time and opt back in later, if you so wish.
Don't panic! There nothing to worry about.
The SOS site is now hosted on a cloud-based server which has its own security certificate but with a different domain name to SOS. Sometimes, individual browsers pick up the security certificate from the server rather than from our web site so you get an alert warning of an 'Untrusted web page'.
This is a simple mis-match of our www.soundonsound.com URL.
From time to time we have content that we feel is more appropriate to some editions of the mag than others. Sometimes we have articles that are very specific to the US market so they are included as bonus articles in the US edition.
COMPETITIONS: occasionally a competition will be restricted to specific regions, because the prize donor is local to that region and does not wish entries from other parts of the world.
Note: Regardless of the print edition in which articles are published, we always publish them on the web site for everyone to read.
When logged in, click on your username in a thread you have posted in, then click on the link that says:

If you have a Promo Code to purchase a product from one of our Partner Offers, you should enter it when requested in the SOS online Shop.
Please note, many promo codes are specific to geographical regions and our server will automatically check that your region matches the promo code offer.
For example, if you buy a product in America and try to use the promo code elsewhere in the world it will not work. You must be resident in the region the code relate to.

If you have entered all of your card details correctly you may see a screen pop-up saying 'Verify by Visa'.
This is an additional security check with your card provider. At this point you're talking directly to your card provider and it will ask for a password which you must have previously setup.
(Note: This is a password between you and your card provider and has nothing to do with SOS).
The most common reason why you can not complete your purchase is usually because our shop 'cookie' which temporarily stores your basket information is not activated correctly.
If the shop keeps forgetting your items please quit your browser then re-start it. Clear your cache and clear out all cookies. Then go back to the SOS shop.
It's easy to subscribe online for a Gift Subscription -- just go to our Subscription page, select the type of subscription (Digital or a combined Print+Digital sub), then, tick/check the box on the order form that says 'Gift for a friend'. Add To Cart, and fill out the requested information boxes. Go To Checkout and pay.
NOTE: You do not have to enter the giftee's delivery address. They set that up themselves when they redeem the gift voucher.
Always protect yourself when contacting other people on the internet or receiving communications from strangers. Verify the other person's identity before sending any money or items — if they are legitimate, they will have no problem with this as they will expect the same from you. Keep records of everything.
WARNING: Many scammers use Western Union accounts. We advise you never deal with people who ask you to pay into this type of account.
Please let us know the details of the article you have purchased and we'll investigate. Give us the month and article title, or, paste in the URL link from the article web page into your message:

Promo Codes are often made available as part of our exhibition marketing or in joint promotional ventures with manufacturers and their offers. These codes provide special discounts and are time limited offers.
If you have a Promo Code for one of our Subscription Promotions you should enter it when requested in the SOS online Shop.
You can manage all your subscription by going to the Apple App Store on your iPad. See This Aple Support page for details. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4098
Navigate to your purchases and locate the SOS subscription then turn off auto-renewal (this cancels your subscription).
You can pinch-zoom all adverts to enlarge the text.
Tapping the advert will launch the advertisers own website.
We will always try to include all the media files accompanying a given month's magazine, however this may not always be possible.
Sadly this is a limitation of the nature of publishing an app, and is highly dependent on how much additional content is produced alongside the magazine each month. In months where we have lots of media to accompany article (such as shoot-outs, or video tutorials), we may not be able to include all of it in the app.
If you experience a 'second' apparent payment it is NOT a payment but an authorisation - probably because you clicked the button on the web page more than once?
Such pending/shadow payments get removed automatically by your bank within 6 working days, and there is nothing we can do this end to improve this - it is the industry norm for electronic transactions.

If you are having trouble logging in, it might be one of several problems.
The most common problem is using the wrong email address to log in with. Some site users have multiple email addresses associated with different accounts:
Try different combinations of email addresses and passwords to see if this is the problem.
