Monitor manufacturers take-on DSP specialists
Adam Audio UK have begun distributing Softube Products in the UK. Adam are best known for producing high-quality monitors with extended high-frequency response, while Softube were the coders behind the Abbey Road Brilliance Pack, and are best-known for their own Bass Amp Room and Vintage Amp Room software (reviewed in SOS October 2009 and SOS November 2007, respectively).
Softube recently released a native version of the Tube Tech CL1B compressor (previously available for TC Powercore), which they describe as a “truly faithful and very exact replica.” The hardware CL1B is an optical compressor, known for its smooth analogue sound.
