ADK Microphones have announced a collaboration with David Bock, the legendary microphone designer behind David Bock Audio and Soundelux Microphones.
It’s not the first time that David has been involved with the company’s designs, having assisted in the development of their early ADK Custom Shop offerings over 15 years ago. This time around, he’s redesigned the flagship Z2-Mod (Squared Series) range, a collection of valve-based microphones that aim to recreate the sought-after tones of vintage designs while offering improved specifications that better suit the requirements of modern recording studios.
There are six models in the range: the Z2-12, Z2-47, Z2-49, Z2-67, Z2-251 and Z2-800, each of which are coupled with a heavy-duty continuously variable power supply. A range of different finishes are available, and every microphone is custom built for each client and supplied in deluxe packaging.
