Walrus Audio introduce the Xero Polylooper

Features two independent looper channels

Walrus Audio Xero Polylooper guitar loop pedal

Guitar pedal experts Walrus Audio have announced the launch of their latest creation, the Xero Polylooper. Featuring dual-channel looping functionality with independent loop control for each channel, the new arrival includes a trio of operation modes that allow it to tackle everything from practising licks to building up evolving soundscapes during a live performance.

Three Modes

There are three looping modes available on the Xero Polylooper:

  • Sync Mode: Sticks to the traditional looper formula, keeping all loops time-aligned to the first recorded loop.
  • Unsynced Mode: Allows each channel to operate with fully independent time bases, making it possible for loops to drift in and out of sync. This mode is said to be perfect for creating unpredictable ambient sounds and pads.
  • Poly Mode: Recorded loop lengths are automatically quantised to a multiple of the shared time division relative to the first recorded loop. Makes it possible to record loops of different lengths that share a common time base — a three-beat pattern alongside a four beat pattern, for example, or any other polyrhythmic division. Supports MIDI clock for precision sync’ing.

Each of the Xero Polylooper’s channels offers up to three minutes of loop time and supports unlimited overdubs. Dedicated Volume and Pan controls are provided for both channels, along with a selection of playback speeds (0.5x, 1x and 2x) and a reverse playback option. Channels can either be used individually, or ‘stacked’ together to create complex layered compositions, and a multi-colour LED system helps to provide a visual indication of each channel’s current status.

As for connectivity, the pedal boasts a full stereo signal path, with connections provided by four quarter-inch TS sockets, with a fifth accepting an input from an external footswitch. On the rear panel you’ll find a DC power input (2.1mm, centre-negative, 300mA), along with MIDI In and Thru connections on 3.5mm mini-jack sockets, and a USB-C port that can be used to install firmware updates.

Pricing & Availability

The Xero is available now, priced at $299. The first batch has already sold out, but the next batch is due to ship in mid-August 2025.
