Boutique sound-design gurus The Very Loud Indeed Co. have announced the launch of their latest Kontakt sample library.
As with many of the company’s releases, BANSHEE: Dark Vocal Explorations’ title does a good job of describing the contents of the library! The latest offering has been built around samples of master vocalist Malí, who “shaped her voice to evoke supernatural, inhuman performances portraying ghostly and demonic entities.”
Four vocal sections are included:
- Long: Sustained notes with three dynamic layers accessible via the mod wheel.
- Staccato: Short glottal-stop notes with randomised vowels.
- Spectral: Long exhales, short exhales, spoken word phrases and reversed spoken word phrases.
- Beast: Supernatural growls, moans, groans and screams.
The library includes 640 24 bit/48 kHz audio files, and as well as functioning as a Kontakt instrument, the core WAV files are supplied so that they can be used in other samplers or directly in a DAW.

Compatibility
BANSHEE: Dark Vocal Explorations runs in the full version of Native Instruments’ Kontakt 6.8 or later, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11 and Macs running macOS 10.14 and above. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application. The library requires 1.7 GB of disk space.

BANSHEE: Dark Vocal Explorations is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of $49 until 14 August 2025, when it will increase to its full cost of $79.
