Active mastering equalizer
The Charter Oak PEQ1 mastering equaliser deputed at the last Musikmesse in Frankfurt, but has only now come out of the prototype stage. It's a 16 band equaliser with six knobs for adjusting fixed frequencies, which can be selected by a toggle switch below each knob. Designed for transparent sweetening of a final mix, the highest and lowest bands have up to 24dB of cut or boost, with 12dB of cut and boost available for the next bands inwards, and only 6dB available for two mid-range bands. Since human hearing is most sensitive to mid-range sounds, this design is intended to make polishing your mixes an intuitive and rapid process. The PEQ1 should be shipping very soon, and costs around $2999.
