AES workshop on building a project studio

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) are holding a one-day workshop entitled 'Here Come The Hits! - Building A Project Studio' on Saturday the 19th of November at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood, Los Angeles.

There are only 100 places available, so early registration is advisable.

The workshop is divided into six technical presentations. In the morning, The Environment covers acoustic design and soundproofing, The 'Goes-Intas' (that's a new one on us) focusses on mics, preamps and A-D converters and The 'Goes-Outas' focusses on amplifiers, monitors and processors.

In the afternoon, two DAW Choices presentations discuss the various options available in terms of hardware and software respectively. The Final seminar of the day presents three practical case studies. The workshop program also includes open Q&A sessions.

The one-day workshop costs $40 for AES members, $50 for non-members and $30 for students. The price includes course materials, lunch and parking. The event runs from 9am to 6pm. You can register on-line at the AES LA Section's web site:
