AIR Music Tech have announced the launch of a new effects plug-in that is being offered as a free download for a limited time only. Multiband Filterbank brings together a collection of filters that have been inspired by the features and quirks of legendary hardware, but designed with modern musicians in mind.
The plug-in features a three-band design with adjustable crossover points, making it possible to target specific frequency ranges with different filter types. A choice of five filter modes are provided: low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, notch and peak, and each band comes equipped with Cutoff, Reso(nance) and Pre-Drive parameters for fine-tuning the sound of the filter.
All three bands also feature an envelope follower that can be fed from the output of any band, opening up some interesting modulation capabilities. The connection between band and follower can be made using a drop-down menu at the top of each band, causing the destination band’s Cutoff control to be modulated by the signal from the source band. The overall depth of the effect can be controlled by a Mod parameter on the source band, and each envelope follower can be fine-tuned using its Rise, Fall and Gain controls.
Compatibility
AIR Multiband Filterbank is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or higher, and Macs running macOS 13 and above. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available. It is also compatible with MPC standalone and desktop systems running software version 2.15.1 or later.
