Just ahead of the NAMM Show 2026, AKG have announced that they will be introducing a new line-up of capacitor mics aimed at musicians, podcasters, YouTubers and streamers. The C-Series comprises three new models: the C104, C114 and C151, and promises to combine outstanding technical performance with user-friendly operation.
All three of the new mics feature a precision-engineered, transformerless FET circuit that delivers an ultra-low noise floor and expansive dynamic range, while a broad frequency response allows them to deliver natural-sounding results on just about any source. The C104 and C114 are both large-diaphragm models based on the company’s ever-popular C414 — the former features a fixed cardioid pattern while the latter offers cardioid, figure-8 and omni modes — and the C151 is a small-diaphragm cardioid design.
In terms of looks, the new offerings sport a “refreshed, contemporary aesthetic that pays homage to AKG’s iconic design legacy”. The company have also focused heavily on sustainability, with all three of the C-Series’ bodies constructed from 100% recycled PIR material, and all packaging and accessories engineered for minimal environmental impact.
