The UA 610 Tube Preamp & EQ Collection has just become the latest of Universal Audio’s renowned UAD plug-ins to gain a native version, and to celebrate the release, the company are offering it as a free download for a limited time.
Originally introduced for Apollo in 2014, the UA 610 Tube Preamp & EQ Collection kits users out with a faithful recreation of the 610 modular console that was introduced by Bill Putnam Sr. in 1960. Among the first mixers to be purpose-built for audio recording, the legendary console helped to define the sound of modern recording, featuring on classic records by artists such as Ray Charles, Elvis Presley and Neil Young.
Until now, the plug-in has remained a part of Universal Audio’s DSP plug-in line-up, requiring either an Apollo interface or UAD-2 hardware accelerator. With the launch of the new native version, however, it’s now available to all users without the need for any specific interface or hardware.
