Alongside their extensive range of master clocks, power conditioners, outboard gear and audio interfaces, Black Lion Audio have been steadily introducing patchbays to their product range. The latest addition to the collection has just arrived, and offers a convenient way for users to connect up to 16 microphones (or other XLR-equipped sources) to their consoles, preamps, interfaces or outboard gear.
The PBR XLR 16F DSub comes loaded with 16 front-panel female XLR sockets that terminate to a pair of DB-25 connectors on the unit’s rear panel. Black Lion Audio say that they have employed high-quality connectors throughout the design, with all of the sockets securely mounted to an internal steel backplate to protect against wear and tear when connecting and disconnecting gear. a set of custom patch labels are included, with additional labels available directly from the Black Lion Audio website, or via the company’s partners at PatchCAD.
