Alan Parsons’ latest ASSR Workshop

Streaming tickets now available for 1–2 August 2025

The Art & Science of Sound Recording (ASSR) have announced that the in-person tickets for their latest workshop with legendary producer and mixer Alan Parsons sold out within their first week on sale. As a result, the organisation are now offering streaming tickets that will allow those who aren’t able to attend in person the chance to experience the two-day event remotely.

What’s Happening?

Here’s an overview of what’s taking place over the two-day workshop:

  • Alan Parsons will present his iconic ‘Tales Of Mystery’, ‘Imagination’ and ‘Eye In The Sky’ albums, along with his latest release, ‘From The New World’, from behind his Neve 5088 console, de-constructing the albums from the multitracks with explanations and stories from the original sessions.
  • Open Q&A after each album presentation.
  • You will learn what goes into the making of a hit record, from basic approaches to invaluable personal insights.
  • Observe hands-on mixing from in-person attendees under the guidance of Alan and Noah.
  • Mic Shootouts: Vocal mics will be tested using live male and female singers. Mics under the microscope include models from UA (Bock), Sontronics, Austrian Audio and Warm Audio, plus mics from Alan's personal mic locker, including models from AKG, Audio-Technica, Neumann, Slate, Tonelux and more.
  • Tips, tricks and templates for conducting your own mic shootouts.
  • Alan will discuss his recent use of and thoughts on AI on remixes. Lecturer Jorge Costa from Arizona State University will demonstrate some applications of AI after the de-construction of ‘Tales Of Mystery’ and ‘Imagination’.
  • Immersive Audio 'state of play' breakout session with ASSR Immersive Audio course author David Reyes.
  • And some surprises!
