AAS Tassman v4
Applied Acoustic Systems have released Tassman 4, the latest version of their flexible synthesis software for Mac OS X and Windows.
Tassman, a polyphonic modular synthesis and sound design environment based on AAS’s physical modelling technology, is capable of emulating acoustic instruments and analogue and FM synthesizers. Version 4 adds several new features, including the ability to process audio inputs in real time and the new Output Stage, which incorporates tempo-sync’ed stereo delay and reverb effects and an audio recorder.
There’s a new collection of synth and effects presets created by top sound designers, preset management and browsing facilities have been improved and the new Performance Mode gives instant access to Tassman sounds, allowing a synth, a preset, effects and MIDI maps to be stored together and instantly recalled. Finally, Tassman’s algorithms have been tweaked for improved performance.
The version 4 update is available now from the AAS web site, and registered users of previous versions can upgrade for $99. Anyone who bought or unlocked Tassman after the 1st of January 2004 can upgrade free of charge. Tassman 4 costs £299 to buy new.
You can find more information on Tassman at the Applied Acoustic Systems web site, where a minor service update for the Lounge Lizard virtual electric piano and demo versions of Tassman and Lounge Lizard are available for download.
