Audiocube have announced that their innovative 3D audio software suite has just received a major update that introduces a wealth of new features and functions. With the release of Audiocube v24.11, users gain a generous selection of new tools for generating and controlling sounds along with an overhauled audio engine and GUI.
Logic Boxes & Ambience
One of the headline features of the release is the introduction of Logic Boxes, a new set of tools designed to trigger the software’s Samplers, Emitters and newly introduced Ambience device. There are six types of Logic Boxes (Pulse, Chord, Chain, Split, Cycle and Stop) that can be used individually or linked together in order to create self-perpetuating soundscapes. Audiocube say that the potential for experimentation is practically limitless, with the feature capable of creating everything from chaotic rhythms and generative melodies to evolving immersive soundscapes. Next up is the Ambience device, a simplified sampler that has been designed specifically for hosting field recordings and ambient audio tracks in order to easily create new environments.
Audio Engine & GUI Reworking
The software has also been treated to a major visual overhaul, with all UI elements benefitting from a revamped look that delivers a more consistent, modern aesthetic. Fonts, graphics and rendering have all been fine-tuned, offering a sharper look without increasing the load on system resources, while a more flexible layout system allows users to tailor the GUI to their liking and toggle in-scene visuals such as display text, device icons, meshes and waveform displays.
The underlying audio engine has been improved, too, and has gained a new audio range adjustment mode that provides precise control over how audio sources propagate, as well as gaining support for some features that are planned for future updates. Not to be left out, the Sequencer Window now offers new subdivisions and a resizeable window, along with some other behind-the-scene changes that pave the way for future improvements.

That’s very much the tip of the iceberg; the new version is by far the most significant update to Audiocube since its initial launch — it’s well worth a visit to the company’s website to check out everything that’s been introduced. If that’s still not enough, work has already begun ahead of the next update! The developer has released the following information about what’s coming next:
- Reworked Mixer System: An overhaul designed to make the existing mixer more flexible, and allow users to add, rearrange, and customise audio effects on the fly.
- Spatial Audio Formats & Multi-Channel Output: Potential integration with Wwise to enable multi-speaker setups for surround sound systems.
- MIDI Output: The ability to capture MIDI clips directly from generative tools like Emitters and Logic Boxes.
- FX Zone Enhancements: Refinements and expansions for the existing FX Zone devices.
- Mobile & Tablet Mode: An alternate UI optimised for mobile and tablet devices.
As always, users are being encouraged to get in touch with their own feature requests.
