Austrian Audio have announced that the latest version of the software plug-in created for use with their OC818 and upcoming OC-S10 microphones is now entering the public beta testing phase. The test is open to all users, and those who participate and provide feedback will be entered into a competition to win an OC818.
As with its predecessors, PolarDesigner3 provides OC818 and OC-S10 users with the ability to manipulate the polar pattern of their microphone during post-production. The pattern can be adjusted independently across up to five frequency bands, and can even be controlled by a DAW’s automation system, offering a huge amount of versatility after a recording has taken place. The latest version boasts a simplified GUI that has been designed to improve user experience, as well as benefitting from some behind-the-scenes changes that offer improved performance. Both Windows and macOS operating systems are supported, and there will be native support for Apple Silicon processors.
