Described as “the ultimate transition designer”, Baby Audio’s collaboration with musician Andrew Huang provides an intuitive tool for crafting risers, beat drops and transition sound effects, as well as adding some ‘movement’ to the likes of synth pads, guitars and other instruments. The company have now announced the launch of Transit 2, which updates the popular plug-in with four new Motion modes and 10 additional effects modules.
Transit’s original Macro and Sequencer modes have been joined by four new additions that offer a wealth of new creative modulation possibilities. There’s an LFO mode for creating rhythmic effects that can be sync’ed to the host DAW’s tempo, while Follower provides envelope follower-style control over the plug-in’s effects chains. Sidechain, as its name suggests, allows effects to be controlled by an external audio source, and finally, Gate provides a way to instantly trigger effects during live performances.
The effects section itself has also been expanded, with 10 new effects modules bringing the total count to 28. The latest processors to join the line-up are: Warp, Loop, Reverser, Speaker, EQ, Analog Chorus, Shifter +, Mod Filter, Retroverb and Compressor, and as with the existing collection, all of their parameters can be left static or controlled by the Motion section.
Transit 2 comes loaded with no fewer than 838 presets that have been created by Andrew Huang and other top sound designers, and there’s a randomise function that allows users to instantly generate new sounds, as well as locking parameters they wish to remain unaffected.
