Bedrock.LA, the Los Angeles-based multi-room recording and rehearsal facility, have announced that they will be permanently closing after having to evacuate in October 2022 when their building was deemed to be unsafe due to structural issues. An estate sale will be taking place on Saturday 17 December 2022 at 1623 Allesandro St, Echo Park, CA, between 12:00 and 18:00, with the studio selling their entire collection of instruments and audio equipment.
Bedrock.LA was founded in 2009 by Cosmo Jones, KamranV and Phil Feinman, three musicians who say they were unhappy with the rehearsal options in Los Angeles at the time and wished to create a new space with a more creative vibe and nicer equipment. Thanks to the trio’s backgrounds in technology, design, marketing, and electrical engineering, the project grew into a large complex of creative spaces covering 40,000 square feet, and containing over 100 rooms which provided rehearsal, writing, and recording spaces to local and touring artists alike.
In addition to the sale, a selection of merchandise is also available to purchase via the Bedrock.LA website for those wishing to show their support.
SOS visited the studios in 2016 to interview engineer Jeff Ellis about his work with Frank Ocean, you can check out the video here.
