A 24-week programme that will advance your potential as a music teacher.

The Music Leader Training Course is a great opportunity for people who have a background in music and the arts and want to increase their knowledge, skills and experience in teaching and working in the community arts sector.

The course is unique and only offered by music training organisation CM. It is a great opportunity for people looking for new ways to earn money from their music and develop a career in community music and arts leadership. It aims to provide a sound foundation in teaching and learning within a community arts setting, and explores a variety of subject areas including teaching methods, styles of learning, teaching repertoire, workshop leading and curriculum models.

Successful completion the course leads to a PTLLS City and Guilds 7303 teaching qualification for the life long learning sector.

With a 30-year history of training music leaders, the course attracts people with a wide range of backgrounds. Previous students have included teachers, professional musicians, singers, producers, promoters and other business owners all seeking new skills and understanding of teaching in community arts. The course brings likeminded individuals together to share experiences and learn together, and develop confidence and understanding.

Course alumni are now working in schools, colleges, prisons and arts and music organisations. Some have even gone on to set up their own companies. A high percentage of graduates are now in employment, and over 95% of graduates students said that their teaching confidence has increased as a result of completing the course.

Small class sizes ensure students get a proper amount of time with teachers, and flexible hours on evenings and weekends are also available.
