Dreamtonics' upcoming Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro

Available to pre-order ahead of March 2025 launch

Dreamtonics Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro AI vocal synthesis plug-in

At the NAMM Show 2025, Tokyo-based Dreamtonics were showcasing the latest version of their innovative vocal synthesis software. Set for release on 21 March 2025, Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro boasts an improved algorithmic design and enhanced multi-threading support, improving rendering times by up to 300% and achieving more natural-sounding vocals.

Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro features real vocals, recorded and licensed from real singers, and utilises AI technology to synthesise custom expressions from them. For the latest version of the software, Dreamtonics have re-trained the underlying AI and carefully reworked the Vocal Modes available for each voice to enhance their stylistic distinction, a move which they say not only improves the quality of each voice, but also prepares them for the new level of detailed edits offered by version 2.

What’s New?

  • Enhanced Voice Quality and Dynamics: Updated models lead to more accurately replicate human-like voice dynamics, resulting in a greater sense of presence with finer details.
  • Up to 300% Faster Rendering Speed: Enhanced performance without the need for a dedicated GPU or acceleration hardware, allowing for seamless offline use.
  • A Phoneme Timing Panel: Allowing for direct resizing and adjustment of phoneme intensity within a note, plus detailed adjustments to timing and prominence of plosive onsets.
  • Enhanced Vocal Modes: Users now have the ability to assign separate modes to pitch, timbre and pronunciation.
  • An Expression Pad & Single-Click AI Retakes Panel: New features integrated into the Notes panel, allowing for single-click retakes of phoneme timing in addition to existing functionality.
  • Smart Pitch Controls - enabling users to quickly and intuitively shape pitch expressions with precision.
  • Mouth Opening Parameter: The first of its kind, this parameter fundamentally alters vowel pronunciation, allowing users to accentuate specific words or subtly modify the way a phrase begins or ends, adding depth and expressiveness to their synthesised vocals.
  • Korean Support: a newly added cross-lingual synthesis language option for all upgraded voices.

"In testing, the vocals generated by the Synthesizer V actually received the same naturalness ratings as real human vocals — a very exciting milestone for voice synthesis. While J-Pop artists have used voice synthesis tools like this for some time now, most in the west have yet to discover it. Dreamtonics are proud to finally unveil Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro and introduce endless inspiration and fun to more people’s music-creation process." - Kanru Hua, Founder and CEO, Dreamtonics
