Emergence Audio introduce Infinite Upright virtual instrument

Create continually evolving soundscapes

Emergence Audio Infinite Piano evolving cinematic soundscape sample library virtual instrument

Following on from their Textures line-up, which offers an interesting take on conventional string libraries, Emergence Audio have announced the launch of Infinite Upright. As you might expect from the company, it’s far from your usual sample library, and is being described as “a piano in orbit”.

Employing the same Non-Static Sampling technology as the Textures series, and relying on the latest version of Emergence Audio’s Infinite Motion Engine, the library takes the piano samples that form its core and uses them to create continually evolving soundscapes, with each note benefitting from subtle, unique variations. The samples capture a 1980s Baldwin upright piano, and Emergence Audio’s proprietary techniques have been blended with a range of effects processing both in the digital realm and with a collection of Eurorack modular rigs.

The GUI will be a familiar sight to those who have used any of the Textures instruments, with a pair of sample layers each sporting their own dedicated ADSR envelopes, high- and low-pass filters and panning controls, while a centre section houses a set of LFO-based modulation options. An FX layer then provides a collection of built-in effects that include over 50 convolution reverb options, delay, chorus, phaser, rotator and stereo imaging processors, along with distortion, lo-fi and tape saturation options.
