Flux Plug-ins

Recording Pack launched
Flux Sound & Picture Development, whose range of audio plug-ins we reviewed in SOS July 2008 (and on-line here) have announced the Recording Pack, which comprises a number of their existing plug-ins.

Billed by the developers as “the most versatile and comprehensive set of precision tools for recording and mixing session work”, the plug-ins in the Recording Pack will provide most of the processors required for everyday projects.

Bundled in the Recording Pack are compressor, limiter, expander and EQ plug-ins from Flux’s Pure series, as well as the Dcompressor and Dexpander processors. These are the jewels in the Flux crown: Dcompressor can help to restore the original dynamics of a sound after over-compression, while Dexpander enhances the quietest parts of a signal and can “magnify the spatialisation information”.

The components of the Recording Pack are all capable of processing audio at sample rates up to 384kHz, and will work on Macs and PCs, including those running 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows XP and Vista. They come in VST, Audio Units and RTAS formats, and you’ll need an iLok to authorise them.

At the time of writing, Flux were offering a 25 percent discount on the Recording Pack, bringing the price down to 434 Euros (£372) from the standard price of 579 Euros. Head to their web site to take advantage of the deal.
