Linea Live range launched
German PA maestros Fohhn have a new addition to their highly praised range this month — the Fohhn Linea Live series. The Linea Live range is an extension of Fohhn's already successful installation Linea series, and UK distributors Systems Workshop tell us that they have been pressing Fohhn to extend the range into the live-sound market, so good has been the reception from installers.
The result is an elegant mix-and-match system that can be configured in a number of ways, not least due to Fohhn's exceptionally versatile electronics.
At the heart of the Linea Live system is an active subwoofer with built-in DSP. This also drives the slim, line-source directional columns — either the 160W LX-100 or 240W LX-150. These feature eight or 12 four-inch speakers, and one-inch compression drivers fitted with waveguides. Your choice of subs runs from the 1000W XS-10, through the similarly powered XS-20 to the 1500W XS-30.
As an example of a typical system, Systems Workshops quote a basic Linea Live package comprising a pair of LX-100s and a single XS-10 at £3550. Expanding that system would be easy as the entire range is plug and play. The next obvious move might be to add a passive XS-10 sub, which would bring the bill to £4198. From there you can add or subtract items to a system, with the onboard electronics doing the calculations for you. In terms of audio setup, that's catered for too, with a number or pre-engineered EQ settings, which can be remotely controlled.
That easy configuration, Systems Worskshop say, is making the Linea Live system very attractive to small hire companies, as well as bands and duos looking for exceptional sound quality from a small, highly portable package. Expect to see stocks in October.
