Two University graduates have clubbed together to launch a web site that brings studio owners and prospective clients together in the same corner of cyberspace.
Head to rentmystudio.co.uk, and you’ll be faced with two options: “rent your studio” and “find a studio”. From here, people wanting to find studios in their area can search the site’s database by daily rate, location and the facilities offered, and get in touch directly with the studios that meet the criteria. Studio owners can register and list their studio for free, or choose to pay for a premium advertising package, where banners appear on the pages of the web site.
Along with recording studios, rentmystudio.co.uk has a database of photo and film studios as well as art workshops and other facilities that can be of use for creative types. Their hope is that unsigned artists who don’t have lots of industry connections will be able to benefit from using the service, and private studios who occasionally rent their facilities out will be able to use the site to get custom.
Although first launched in the UK, there is a USA side of the site, which will serve the North American market. So, next time you’re thinking you need a place to record, head to rentmystudio.co.uk and see what you can find.
