GPU Audio have announced the launch of Beat Battle, a beat making competition which will see entrants’ submissions being pitted against each other in a series of head-to-head ‘battles’ to determine a winner. The competition is open now, and will be accepting entries until 24 August 2023, with winners in with a chance of grabbing over $2000 in prizes provided by the likes of MNTRA, Audio Thing, Sonible, Bedroom Producer Blog, MusicByLukas and more.
The company are offering users the chance to download a free collection of drum samples to get started, packed with over 150 royalty-free drum hits. They are also inviting those interested in submitting an entry to utilise their free suite of beta plug-ins, which offers a collection graphics card-powered plug-in processors such as a phaser, flanger, chorus, delay and a pair of convolution reverbs.
In order to enter the competition, a beat over one minute in length must be submitted via the Beat Battle Channel on the GPU Audio Discord Server, along with a short (300 words or less) description of how it was made. The competition will close for entries on 24 August 2023, and a week of voting will follow to determine the winners.
