Alongside his work as a Grammy-winning producer, mix engineer and songwriter, DJ Swivel also has a growing range of plug-ins and sample packs to his name. The latest addition to the collection, HitStrip, has just launched, offering an all-in-one channel strip that comprises nine individual processing modules.
HitStrip has been designed to bring all of the most commonly used processors into a single, intuitive plug-in, and features a total of nine modules: EQ, Gate, Limiter, Dynamics, De-Esser, Two-Band Exciter, Transient Designer, Stereo Imaging and Tape Saturation. All of the modules can be bypassed individually, and with the exception of the Gate and Limiter modules — which are built into the Input and Output meter sections, respectively — can be moved around freely by the user to alter their position in the processing chain. All modules are kitted out with a comprehensive range of parameters, providing detailed, in-depth control over the input signal. The EQ section is particularly well equipped, offering a choice of three operating modes: Dynamic, Transient and Tonal.
Despite packing in a healthy selection of processing modules, HitStrip has been designed around a logical signal chain and manages to arrange all of its parameters in a single page, meaning that there’s no cycling between different views or sub-menus. It also boasts low CPU usage, and is capable of delivering impressively low latency figures of between 1 and 4 ms.
Compatibility
Hitstrip is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
Pricing & Availability
Hitstrip is available now, and is currently (16 December 2024) being offered at an introductory price of $99, reduced from its full cost of $169.
