IK Multimedia announce AmpliTube Morley Collection

Recreates three sought-after effects pedals

IK Multimedia AmpliTube Morley Collection guitar pedal effects software wah fuzz delay

The AmpliTube Morley Collection from IK Multimedia brings three officially certified recreations of classic and rare guitar pedals to users of the company’s AmpliTube modelling software packages.

Originally released in the early 1970s, the Morley EVO-1 ‘Oil Can Delay’ uses a patented electro-static delay technology and offers a “warm and warbly” sound that sets it apart from the competition. The pedal has been expertly captured by IK Multimedia’s design team, with users able to benefit from all of the quirks of the original design whilst also gaining additional tone-shaping controls thanks to new Disk Noise, Disk Erase and delay BPM parameters.

The Morley Power Wah Fuzz is another sought-after classic that combines wah and fuzz effects into a single unit. IK say that they have faithfully captured the saturated tone of the original unit’s MPSA12 transistor, and have also modelled the wide frequency range of the unit’s optical sensor, with the results delivering a variety of tones that range from the subtle to the extreme.

The final model is of Morley’s Contour Wah Pedal, an electro-optical wah pedal first released in 1996. This software recreation offers the same wide frequency range and offers a variable Q control that allows users to precisely shape the effect’s wah sound. As with the original, the virtual pedal features a Contour mode for creating sweeping filter effects, that can be used alongside the Level parameter to fine-tune the pedal’s high-end response.

AmpliTube Morley Collection runs in IK Multimedia’s AmpliTube software, which is supported on PCs running Windows 7 or later, and Macs running macOS 10.10 and above. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
