IK Multimedia have added another model to their popular range of guitar interfaces. The iRig USB aims to offer guitarists and bassists an affordable and easy way to practise, play and record, and comes complete with a selection of AmpliTube and TONEX amp modelling apps.
The interface shares the same compact form factor as the recently released iRig HD X, with its pocket-sized enclosure equipped with a single rotary control and housing a pair of quarter-inch TS sockets, a 3.5mm TRS headphone output and a USB-C socket. The input has been optimised to work well with any active or passive guitar and bass pickups, and as well as providing monitoring via the built-in headphone amp, a signal can also be sent to a guitar amp or monitor thanks to an instrument level output.
The iRig USB is compatible with both Mac and Windows systems, and can also be used with Apple’s iPad and iPhone 15 devices. AmpliTube 5 SE and AmpliTube CS provide 80 gear models for desktop and mobile platforms respectively, kitting users out with a selection of sought-after amps, effects and cabinet emulations, whilst TONEX SE comes loaded with 200 Premium Tone Models that capture an assortment of amp and pedal combinations and can be used across Mac, PC and iOS systems.
