LSS announce one-day mixing masterclass

London School of Sound host one-off tutorial
London School of Sound have announced a special one-day mixing masterclass, which will take place on Saturday 24th February. There will be sessions on the practical use of mixing tools, and choosing the right equipment for the job, as well as in-depth theory on the purpose of a mix, critical listening, and planning for mixdown.

The class leader, Matt Foster, has engineering and mixing experience in many of London's top studios, and has worked with artists including Ms Dynamite, Emma Bunton and Gorillaz.

The class is sponsored by Apple and Focusrite, so it's not surprising that Logic Pro will be used as a platform on which to demonstrate the topics, alongside Focusrite's Liquid technology for processing duties.

However, LSS Director Federico Bersano-Begey remarks "the lectures apply to the mixing process on any platform, analogue or digital", meaning users of other platforms and equipment will be able to benefit from the classes.

The masterclass will take place between 10.30am to 5.30pm on Saturday 24th February at LSS' Britannia Row Studio.

Admission is £80 (or £50 for ex-students), and class size is limited, so be sure to book early. To book, call +44 (0)207 354 7337, email info@londonschoolofsound.co.uk, or visit www.londonschoolofsound.co.uk.
