“Take your drum tracks on a creative sound adventure”
Italian software developers Morevox have released version two of their Elektromorph drum sample library. Elektromorph 2 is designed to “take your drum tracks on an unexpected and creative sound adventure”, delivering drum samples with a distinctly coloured sound.
Designer Sabino Cannone uses less-than transparent vintage analogue gear in the sample-recording stages of production, giving them what he calls “defined character”. Instead of loading dry drums samples into your track and adding your own processing, as you do with other drum libraries, Sabino says that the samples in Elektromorph 2 can be dropped into a project without the need for EQ or dynamic processing, but at the same time are “really mouldable”.
Elektromorph 2 is compatible with Drumagog, DrumRehab and Battery 3, but samples also come in raw 24-bit WAV files. There are 820 separate samples of kick drums, snares, toms, side-sticks and cymbals, which are available either on DVD, costing $199 (around £100 at the time of writing) or as a digital download for $179 (£90), from the Morevox web shop.
