Second ceremony takes place on 11th February 2010
Nominations for the second annual Music Producers Guild (MPG) Awards are now open. With 15 categories ranging from Breakthrough Engineer to Outstanding Contribution to UK Music, there’s plenty of scope for nomination. The Music Producers Guild is encouraging anyone who wishes to make a nomination, or even nominate themselves, to get in touch via their web site (www.mpg.org.uk).
The chairman of the Guild, GRAMMY and Brit Award winner Steve Levine, said: “the aim of these awards is to bring about greater awareness... of the skills and talent involved in making great records”.
The awards ceremony will be held at Café de Paris in London, on February 11th 2010, and the winner of the award for Producer of the Year will also receive a Brit Award for Best Producer. The event is sponsored by the PPL (Phonographic Performance Limited), Prism Sound and SADiE, with many awards being individually sponsored as well.
