Erica Synths have introduced the Black 3109 VCF/VCA. This latest addition to their extensive range of Eurorack modules is built around an AS3109 VCF integrated circuit, a contemporary version of the filter chip used in vintage Roland synths such as the Jupiter series, Juno series and SH-101.
Erica Synths say that the module is their attempt at recreating the sounds of these iconic instruments, but they have also aimed to improve upon them. For instance, the Black 3109 features volume drop compensation to overcome the loss of level encountered in the original filter design when increasing resonance, as well as a built-in VCA to provide more versatility in compact setups.
The Black 3109 VCF/VCA is available now, priced at 160 Euros. Check out the video below to see and hear it in action.
