As well as having earned an enviable reputation for the quality of their hardware, RME are just as often praised for the software side of their products. Their long-term driver support is unrivalled, and many users cite the TotalMix FX control software as one of the deciding factors in opting for one of the company’s range of interfaces and converters.
It’s already a powerful and flexible piece of software, offering a wealth of routing and monitoring features, and in the case of RME’s DSP-equipped interfaces, providing a comprehensive selection of built-in processing and effects. The latest version of TotalMix FX is now available for both Mac and Windows users as a public beta, and while its core functionality remains unchanged, it has been treated to an all-new, fully scaleable graphics engine that allows users to freely zoom and re-size its Mixer and Matrix views.
Of course, not everybody likes change, but those who prefer the previous layout will be pleased to hear that it’s possible to switch between the old and new views at any time.
Availability
The beta version of TotalMix FX 2.0 is available now from the RME website.
