New kit celebrates 15 years of popular condenser
The Rode NT1 large diaphragm condenser mic is a common sight in home and professional studios alike, and received a glowing review in SOS August 1997. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the microphone, Rode have updated the NT1A (the 2003 revision of the NT1) and released a recording package, which includes a pop filter, a shock mount, a 6m XLR cable, a dust cover and a DVD. The DVD is presented by Peter Freedman (interviewed in SOS August 2005), the founder and company president of Rode, and features a range of hints and tips to help new owners get the most out of the mic. The Rode NT1A recording pack is available from Source Distribution in the UK, and will be released some time in October 2009, retailing for £189.
