Samplebase Gloria & Scarlatti Harpshichords

Organs and Harpsichords for Samplebase Satellite
Samplebase have announced two new SoundBlocks, which contain sounds for Satellite, their sample-playback engine. The first, Gloria, comprises samples of three different cathedral organs. They were recorded with “carefully chosen combinations” of stop positions, which the developers, Stratus Sound + Vision, say provide sounds that work with everything from sacred and historical music to film soundtracks. Gloria Cathedral Organs is available for download, and costs $39.

The second of the new SoundBlocks, also developed by Stratus Sound + Vision, is called Scarlatti Harpsichords and features samples of two of the keyboard instruments with a number of string configurations. As with the organs SoundBlock, the makers say it’s authentic enough to create period music, but it can also be used for theatrical scores and “adventurous pop and rock”.

It too costs $39 and can be downloaded from www.samplebase.com.
