The latest update to Steinberg’s mobile/tablet DAW App has arrived, introducing improved support for tempo and time signature changes alongside a range of new built-in sounds. Along with Cubasis 3.7, the company have also announced that Iconica Sketch, their renowned all-in-one virtual orchestral instrument, is now available as an iOS/iPadOS App.
Cubasis Updated
Thanks to the inclusion of new tempo and signature tracks, Cubasis users now benefit from support for a comprehensive range of time signatures, as well as the ability to program both tempo and signature changes. The FM Classics in-app purchase has also gained a free DX7 voice ROM update, which includes 384 keyboard, synthesizer, plucked/tuned percussion, wind instrument, sustain and sound effect patches, providing users with an extended set of 1980s Yamaha DX7 and TX81Z sounds.
Iconica Sketch Goes Mobile
Additionally, Steinberg have announced that their popular Iconica Sketch instrument is now available as an iOS/iPadOS App, which can be used alongside any AU-compatible mobile DAW package. It brings together an entire sampled orchestra, featuring 34 playable instruments with a total of 140 articulations, as well as an Adaptive True Legato system that intelligently adjusts to playing speed to ensure a highly expressive, authentic-sounding performance. Users who own both Cubasis and Iconica Sketch benefit from a free additional plug-in version of the instrument for improved integration and maximum performance. Thankfully, Android users haven’t been left out, with Iconica Sketch now available as in-app purchase in the Android version of Cubasis.
“We are thrilled to close 2024 on a high note with a few major milestones. We’ve fulfilled a long-standing user request by introducing tempo and signature track support to Cubasis 3.7. And, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Yamaha synthesizers, our FM Classics IAP now offers over 380 additional iconic DX7 sounds from the golden 1980s. It doesn’t stop there: our HALion and Cubasis teams have teamed up to bring the pinnacle of virtual instruments to mobile music creation with our debut standalone instrument, Iconica Sketch for iPhone, iPad and every AU-compatible DAW. Our Android users can also get Iconica Sketch, via a Cubasis in-app purchase.
