Steinberg Nuendo Live 3 now available

New templates feature & updated audio engine

Steinberg have released Nuendo Live 3, the latest version of their dedicated live recording software. Several new features have been introduced that promise to make the live recording process faster, more flexible and with improved audio quality.

Nuendo Live 3’s audio engine has been updated, and is now the same as the latest generation version used in the company’s Cubase and Nuendo DAWs, whilst a new user interface features HiDPi support. Full native support for Apple’s M1 and M2 processors has also been implemented, allowing the software to take full advantage of the efficiency and processing power of the current line-up of Mac computers.

A new Project Template Assistant has been introduced, allowing any Nuendo Live 3 project to be used as a template for the next recording rather than users having to save files as a dedicated template format. This can be helpful when recording a series of shows by the same artist, as the setup from the first show can then be quickly and easily saved as a template for the next performance.

The software also supports Steinberg Licensing, an account-based license management system which does not require the use of an external dongle, preventing any issues being caused by the loss, theft or damage of a dongle, or failed recordings due to the device being accidentally knocked out or removed during a performance. There is also no requirement for an internet connection for authorisation, meaning it is possible to use the software offline.
