Steinberg update Studio Case bundle

They've also lowered the price of Virtual Bassist
Steinberg have released details of a new version of the budget-friendly Studio Case bundle, which now includes Cubase SE 3 plus six virtual instruments for under £200, and the price of Virtual Bassist has dropped to £169.99.

Cubase SE 3, the latest version of Steinberg's entry-level sequencer, offers  48-track, 24-bit/96kHz audio recording in addition to MIDI recording and editing and plug-in and virtual instrument support.

As well as Cubase SE 3, Studio Case 2 features special editions of six popular Steinberg virtual instruments — Virtual Guitarist SE, HALion SE, The Grand SE, Groove Agent SE, D’Cota SE and Virtual Bassist SE.

Studio Case 2 will be available from mid-September costing just £199.99. It's also possible to upgrade to Studio Case 2 from Cubase LE for £99.99. Cubase LE comes bundled with a wide range of other manufacturers products, so plenty of people should be able to take advantage of this upgrade path, although they'll need to purchase a Steinberg Key dongle to do so.

The UK price of Virtual Bassist has been lowered from £179.99 to £169.99. Virtual Bassist is reviewed in the forthcoming September issue of Sound On Sound (on sale August 18th), which unfortunately went to press before this announcement and hence carries the old price.
