Submersible enlist Matt Cameron

Pearl Jam drummer on your desktop
Submersible Music have launched a new Drummer Pack for their Drum Core virtual drummer software.

Drummer Packs are essentially sample libraries (designed especially for Drum Core), but they also contain audio and MIDI loops of rhythms and fills played by big-name players, alongside the one-shot sample content.

This latest Drummer Pack is from Matt Cameron, who played for Soundgarden until their break up, and more recently for Pearl Jam. Apparently described by Dave Grohl as one of the “three great rock drummers in the world”, Cameron is famed for his heavy sound, although his Drummer Pack contains a number of jazz-influenced ‘groove sets’, as well as various patterns played in odd time signatures.

As it’s specifically designed for Drum Core, CameronPack I, as it’s called, has embedded metadata that enables users to quickly find the right grooves for the job among their other Drummer Packs, and they can even add their own comments, which can be searched for at a later date. Submersible say that the drums used by Matt during the recording session include a custom-built snare by Greg Keplinger, as well as his collection of vinatge Zildjian cymbals, which add an old-school vibe to the loops.

CameronPack I works with Drum Core version two or higher, as well as with the LT version of the software, which can be downloaded for free from Submersible Music’s web site. Visit www.submersiblemusic.com for further information, and to purchase the new Drummer Pack. It costs $80.
