Techivation unveil new M-Loudener plug-in

Increase loudness whilst preserving dynamic range

Techivation M-Loudener loudness dynamic range stereo width enhancement plug-in

Techivation have announced the launch of M-Loudener. The first in a new M series of plug-ins, this debut offering has been designed to increase a signal’s loudness whilst preserving its dynamic range. As with all of their processors, the company have focused on developing an intuitive, user-friendly interface that will appear to both beginners and advanced users alike.

Central to the plug-in’s GUI is the main Sound Effect parameter. Ranging from 0 to 100%, the control increases the perceived loudness of the source signal whilst also increasing the stereo width. Further control over the width processing is then offered by Mid/Side slider, which adjusts the amount of the effect being applied to the signal’s mid and sides components.

Loudness can be increased further using M-Loudener’s Drive control, although Techivation recommend using it sparingly to avoid introducing unpleasant distortion. Selectable Softener and Smoother modes can be engaged to make the overall effect more subtle, and are intended for use on bass-heavy mixes or applications where it may be desirable to smooth excessive transients. The modes can be used individually, or can be combined to maximise the plug-ins transparency.

A Mix control enables uses to apply the effect in parallel within the plug-in itself, and a pair of meters provide a visual indication of signal level at both the input and output stages. a range of oversampling options are present, with a Quality menu providing a range of settings that extend to a rate of x8. M-Loudener also benefits from a number of other useful features that have become the norm for Techivation’s plug-ins, such as an A/B comparison tool, undo and redo options and a scalable GUI.

Compatibility

M-Loudener is supported on PCs running Windows 7 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.11 and later. For Mac users, the plug-in will run natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon machines. VST, VST3, AU and AAX versions are available.

Pricing & Availability

M-Loudener is available now, and will be priced at $45 until 31 March 2023, after which it will cost $90. During the same introductory period, owners of other premium Techivation plug-ins are eligible for a reduced price of $35, and those who own all of the T series plug-ins will see the cost reduced to $25.
