WA Production have released Babylon 2, an upgraded version of their popular and comprehensive synthesizer based around all controls appearing on a single screen. Building on its predecessor, Babylon 2 has been designed with a focus on multi-voice oscillators, morphing wavetables, and enhanced modulation, arpeggiation, micro-tuning and much more.
With the traditional stereo unison and detuning capabilities from the original, Babylon 2 introduces Multi and Quad oscillator modes, which offer waveform blending and live morphing. The new W-Lab wavetable editor allows users to create custom sounds and import their own WAV files. An expanded filter section includes new filter types such as SVF, IIR, and Bi-quad filters. The effects section has also been revamped, with reverb, delay, and distortion allow for richer, more dynamic sound design.
Babylon 2 also provides improved modulation options with envelope followers, key-track modulators, and a curve editor to easily create evolving sounds. The synth’s innovative microtonal tuning feature lets users fine-tune each note across 11 octaves, offering access to exotic scales and unusual tonalities. An upgraded arpeggiator adds rhythmic complexity with customisable patterns.
Babylon 2 features some 858 factory presets and more than 200 high-resolution waveforms. It is available in VST, AU and AAX formats for both Windows and MacOS.
